
We have all had times in our life in which we have experienced stress or anxiety. Under normal circumstances, stress and anxiety can help to motivate, challenge, and grow us as individuals. On the other hand, if a person has been experiencing high levels of stress and anxiety for long periods of time it can affect our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being and our ability to function at our highest potential. Many studies have shown chronic states of stress and anxiety can lead to disease and conditions within the body and mind.
Many people today are either suffering from higher levels of stress and anxiety or are experiencing it for the first time and are having difficulty managing it and the negative effects on their daily life and their relationships. Although stress and anxiety are different and do not necessarily coexist the approaches used to decrease and manage them can be similar.
For Stress and Anxiety, I utilize a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) informed approach. This approach focuses on helping people understand how they are experiencing the world around them and how their current way of thinking, feeling, and behaving is impacting their ability to manage life. CBT looks at changing maladaptive coping mechanisms and behavioural patterns and equips each person with tools to help resolve symptoms and problems, acquire new skills and coping strategies, and prevent relapse.
Coaching has shown to have a powerful and positive impact on anxiety and stress management, while at the same time
